Bo-Jhih Guan has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development. From 2021, they have been working as an Associate Principal Scientist at WuXi Advanced Therapies, where they are involved in process development and manufacturing of viral gene therapy. Bo-Jhih also contributes to platform and analytics development, specializing in adenovirus (AdV), adeno-associated virus (AAV), and lentivirus (Lenti).

Prior to their current role, Bo-Jhih worked as a Senior Scientist at WuXi Advanced Therapies from 2017 to 2021. Here, they focused on process development and manufacturing of viral gene therapy for clients' gene of interest. Bo-Jhih also played a role in platform and analytics development, with a specialization in adenovirus (AdV), adeno-associated virus (AAV), and lentivirus (Lenti).

Additionally, Bo-Jhih worked as a Research Scientist at Case Western Reserve University from 2017 to 2021. Before this, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the same university from 2011 to 2017.

From 2010 to 2011, Bo-Jhih worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Here, they focused on studying the interplay between virus replication and genomic RNA elements of positive-stranded RNA viruses, specifically coronavirus.

Bo-Jhih's earliest work experience dates back to their role as a Research Assistant at the National Defense Medical Center from 2003 to 2005.

Bo-Jhih Guan earned a Bachelor of Science in Aquaculture from National Taiwan Ocean University in the years 1995 to 1999. Guan then pursued a Master of Science in Fishery Science at National Taiwan University from 1999 to 2001. Finally, Guan completed a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Microbiology, Molecular Virology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, spanning from 2005 to 2010.
