Lei Yu

Lei Yu has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Lei is currently working as an Associate Principal Scientist at WuXi Advanced Therapies, where they lead the Flow team in Analytical Development. Their responsibilities include providing panel design, troubleshooting, and training for complicated flow testing, as well as delivering GMP quality data on time to clients.

Prior to their current role, Lei worked at Thomas Jefferson University as the Manager of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center's Flow Cytometry Core Facility. During their time there, they were involved in designing, consulting, data analyzing, and troubleshooting for basic and clinical research flow cytometry assays. Lei also provided comprehensive training on flow cytometry theory and applications and authored SOPs for analysis and equipment operation. Lei's tenure at Thomas Jefferson University lasted from April 2013 to February 2022.

Lei's earlier experience includes a managerial role at NorthShore University HealthSystem, where they worked from December 2006 to March 2013. Additionally, they worked as a Pediatric Surgeon at Nanjing Children's Hospital from July 1993 to July 2001.

Lei Yu has an extensive education history in the field of medicine and business. They began their education at Nanjing Medical University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Medicine degree in Clinical Medicine from 1988 to 1993. They then pursued further education at Nanjing Medical University and earned a Master of Medicine degree in Clinical Medicine from 1999 to 2001. Moving on to the United States, Lei Yu attended the University of Iowa from 2001 to 2006, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Free Radical & Radiation Biology and Radiation Oncology.

Seeking specialization in the field, Lei Yu pursued a Graduate Certificate in Hematology from Thomas Jefferson University between 2014 and 2016. In addition to their academic qualifications, Lei Yu has obtained several certifications in cytometry. They were awarded the Specialist in Cytometry (SCYM) certification and the Qualification in Cytometry (QCYM) certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in August 2016. Lei Yu also holds the Certified Cytometrist (CCy) certification from the International Society for Advancement of Cytometry, although the specific details of when it was obtained are unavailable.

In order to foster their business acumen, Lei Yu recently pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Leadership and Innovation Certificates from the University of Iowa from 2023 to 2025.
