Danyell Irby

Danyell Irby is an accomplished journalism professional with extensive experience in news editing and management. Currently serving as Executive Director of News and Executive Editor for The Daily Dose at WYPR since November 2019, Danyell has previously held prominent roles including Anchor, Reporter, and Editor at Prince George's Community Television, Senior Editor for the Gravy Podcast at Southern Foodways Alliance, and Senior Editor at American Public Media Group. Danyell's notable tenure at NPR from 1998 to 2016 included positions such as Supervising Editor for the National Desk and education projects, as well as managing a $4 million grant for veterans' reintegration coverage. Danyell holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor's degree in English-Communications from Towson University.
