Protein Scientist at Xampla

Luke Browning, PhD MRSC, is an accomplished Protein Scientist at Xampla, focusing on sustainable materials to replace single-use plastics. Additionally, Luke co-owns Biochemist Brewery, a part-time nanobrewery in Red Lodge, Suffolk. As an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland University College, Luke teaches botany, managing course materials and fostering student engagement. Previous experience includes roles as an Associate Scientist at Abcam, where Luke contributed to the manufacturing and quality control of conjugation kits, and a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Cambridge, where research centered on the StCKP protein in potatoes. Luke holds a PhD in Plant Sciences from the University of Cambridge, alongside an MSc in Biotechnology and a BSc in Biochemistry, both from the University of East Anglia.
