Miriam Mendez Tavio

Miriam Mendez Tavio has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and development. Miriam recently joined Xap Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist in April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at GSK from 2018 to 2023, where they held the position of Senior Scientist in Cell & Gene Therapy. Miriam also had a role as an Associate Scientist in Cell & Gene Therapy at GSK from 2018 to 2020. Before joining GSK, Miriam worked as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at Imperial College London in 2017. Miriam started their career with a Student Internship at IMIM in 2014. Overall, Miriam brings extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of scientific research.

Miriam Mendez Tavio has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biotechnology with a specialization in Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Miriam earned this degree between 2011 and 2015. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Genes, Drugs and Stem Cells - Novel Therapies, with a specialization in Gene and Nucleic Acid Based Therapies at Imperial College London from 2016 to 2017.
