Yulong Zhang

Senior Research Scientist at Xbiome

Yulong Zhang has worked in the field of research for over 6 years. In 2019, they joined Xbiome as a Senior Research Scientist and a Research Scientist. In this role, they have led a project to evaluate the potential of selected strains on specific mice models, as well as a project to isolate and cultivate strains from human feces under various conditions. Additionally, they have evaluated and optimized the suitable cultural conditions. Prior to this, Yulong worked at the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a Doctoral Student from 2013 to 2019. During this time, they discovered the gray phenotype and tristable transition system in Candida tropicalis, as well as the relationship between copper concentration and gray phenotype formation in Candida albicans. Yulong also participated in other projects including the study of hyphal formation regulated by ATC cycle in Candida albicans.

Yulong Zhang received a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Microbiology from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences between 2013 and 2019. Prior to that, they received a bachelor's degree in Life Science and Technology Foundation from Northwest University between 2009 and 2013.
