Shane Walker

Shane Walker has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Shane began their career as an Account Manager/Consultant at ADP Dealer Services in 2007. Shane then worked as a Research Analyst/Advertising Consultant at The Fresno Bee from 2004 to 2006.

In 2007, Shane joined ADP Dealer Services again, this time as a Data Visualization Specialist/Data Analyst. Shane provided end-to-end data analysis for OEM client support and produced reporting templates, dashboards, and decks for client presentations. In 2011, they transitioned to the role of a Senior Business Intelligence Consultant, where they worked on advertising optimization problems and cross-channel media optimization, collaborating closely with engineering on query optimization and ad-related data model changes.

From 2012 to 2014, Shane worked at Zynga as an Advertising Data Analyst. In this role, they focused on providing metrics and insights to operations teams and collaborating with game teams to minimize the negative impacts of advertising monetization.

In 2014, Shane joined Marchex as a Principal Data Scientist and was involved in building a speech recognition system for conversational consumer to business phone conversations. Shane played a key role in deploying and improving the model, making it a top performer in terms of word error rate and scaling it to handle hundreds of thousands of phone calls.

After their time at Marchex, Shane worked at Stabilitas from 2019 to 2020 and then at OnSolve from 2020 to 2021, both as a Director of Applied Research. In these roles, they worked on developing research strategies and applying data science techniques to solve problems.

Most recently, Shane is working as the Director of Data Science and Machine Learning at Xembly, a position they assumed in 2021.

Shane Walker attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks from 1998 to 2003, where they studied psychology. However, there is no information available regarding whether they obtained a degree in the field.
