Kurt Martinson

Kurt Martinson has a diverse range of work experience in the aerospace industry. Kurt most recently worked at Xwing as a Staff Aircraft Structures Design Engineer, where they led the design of a novel CTOL electric aircraft using CATIA V5. Kurt was responsible for conceptualizing structural and system layouts, developing configuration control processes, and screening potential candidates for engineering positions. In addition, they provided on-site engineering support for the installation of sensor pods on a Cessna Grand Caravan and developed company processes for generating FAI documents.

Prior to Xwing, Kurt worked at GKN Aerospace in various roles, including as a Sr. Structural Design Engineer for Lockheed/Sikorsky CH-53K and New Development Program. Kurt also worked as a Sr. Structural Design Engineer for Design for Manufacturing Consulting and Advanced Programs.

Before GKN Aerospace, Kurt was a Project Engineer at Textron Aviation, where they focused on airframe design for the CJ4 Gen2. Kurt also gained valuable experience as a Structural Design Engineer at Spirit AeroSystems, working on projects such as the 777X and 787 Section 41.

Early in their career, Kurt interned at Masten Space Systems and served as an Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Student Technician at Iowa State University.

Throughout their career, Kurt has demonstrated expertise in aircraft design, structural engineering, and project management.
