Bill Farnworth

Bill Farnworth is a seasoned mining professional with extensive experience in the coal mining sector. Currently serving as the Statutory Mining Engineering Manager at Yancoal Australia Ltd since November 2017, Bill oversees the statutory management of Abel Mine and technical services at Austar Coal Mine. In addition to this role, Bill has been the Technical Services Manager at Austar Coal Mine Pty Limited since April 2017, leading the technical team. Prior experience includes serving as Operations Manager at Ashton Coal Operations Pty Ltd, where Bill managed mining operations for a longwall operation, and as a Senior Mining Engineer, focusing on project management of drifts and shaft installations. Bill holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the University of Otago and completed high school education at Te Awamutu College.
