James Tenney

James Tenney is a seasoned mining engineer with extensive experience in the mining industry, currently serving as a Senior Mid-term Planning Engineer at Yancoal Australia Ltd since March 2020. Previously, James held roles at Xenith Consulting and Whitehaven Coal, where responsibilities included mining engineering and short-term planning for complex operations. James has a strong background in research, having investigated the effectiveness of gas management tools in coal mines during a tenure at UNSW Mining Engineering. Early career experiences include project management as a vacation student at Xstrata Coal and the implementation of a GPS system for light vehicles at Glencore. James holds a Graduate Diploma in Mine Ventilation and a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from UNSW.
