Trey Cutts

Market Development Director at Yara North America

Trey Cutts has a strong background in agricultural research and development. Trey started their career as an Assistant Farm Manager at Hugghins Sod Farms in 2007 before joining USDA-ARS as a Biological Science Technician. In 2008, they became a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Georgia, where they worked until 2010. Trey then moved to Texas A&M University, where they held the position of Graduate Research Assistant until 2013. At Monsanto Company, Trey worked as a Line Development Breeder, developing improved maize lines and hybrids with added drought-tolerance under the Water Efficient Maize for Africa project. Trey joined Auburn University in 2016 as an Assistant Professor specializing in Cotton Systems Agronomy and Extension. In 2018, Trey started working for Yara North America as a Crop Manager. Trey later became a Market Development Manager and is currently serving as the Market Development Director.

Trey Cutts holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Plant Breeding from Texas A&M University, which was obtained from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Crop and Soil Science from The University of Georgia from 2008 to 2010. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Agronomy and Crop Science, also from The University of Georgia, from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, Trey Cutts has obtained a certification in "Leading for Growth" from Harvard Business Publishing Corporate Learning in 2023.
