Andrius Markvaldas

Andrius Markvaldas has over 20 years of experience in the field of technology, with a focus on database administration, solution engineering, and pre-sales. Andrius currently holds the position of Principal ATS Presales Engineer at Yugabyte, where they lead product demonstrations, aligns YugabyteDB with customer goals, and quantifies the business impact of the product. Prior to this, Andrius worked as a Senior Solution Engineer at Snowflake, collaborating with account leaders to provide technical expertise in customer presentations. Andrius also has experience in various roles at Micro Focus, including Field Chief Technologist, Pre-Sales/Engineer/Solution Architect, and Technical Account Manager. In these positions, they worked on complex big data sales, built long-lasting customer relationships, and provided technical support and personalized guidance to clients. Earlier in their career, Andrius held roles at Spot Trading LLC, Morningstar Inc, Goldenberg Hehmeyer LLP, Arthur Andersen & Co., and McKesson HBOC, where they gained valuable experience in data technology, database administration, and bulk data movement and replication implementations. Andrius initially started their career as a Chemist at FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation.

Andrius Markvaldas has a strong educational background with a Master of Science (MS) degree in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University, which they obtained from 2012 to 2019. Andrius also completed a brief skills development program called "Skills for Success" at Dale Carnegie in 2011. In addition, Andrius holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Distributed Systems from DePaul University, which they completed from 2000 to 2005. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Minnesota, where they majored in Chemistry and Economics from 1989 to 1993.
