What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will identify the right problems to solve for, the customer need and the larger business objectives that a product or feature will fulfil throughout the entire product lifecycle from pretotype (early-stage prototypes) to end-of-life. Collaborate as part of the team that strategically defines and validates the future directions of Zafin products, captures the requirements of existing and future customer need and prioritizes these against product improvements and tech debt. Works actively with engineering, architect, and design teams to implement any new feature enhancements or improvements.

You will develop forecasts for the products that you own based on input from marketing, delivery teams, Clients, sales and product analytics.

You will identify key benefits and value of products used to create and maintain marketing plans and collateral (including website updates, product portal enhancements, product training materials and sales training.

  • You will develop a vision and roadmap for a portfolio of related products based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research and their own industry insight, and aligned with Zafin’s North Star initiatives.
  • Demonstrate understanding and representation of the industry’s critical business issues, and the application’s user needs.
  • Create a shared knowledge base and mindset across larger teams to empower effective independent decision-making.
  • Define an executable vision for the products that you own.
  • Write Product Requirements and Market Requirements.
  • You will develop a vision and roadmap for a portfolio of related products based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research and their own industry insight, and aligned with Zafin’s North Star initiatives.
  • Demonstrate understanding and representation of the industry’s critical business issues, and the application’s user needs.

  • Developing ‘pretotypes’ (early-stage prototypes) to share, align and validate your vision to stakeholders.
  • Prioritize product features and capabilities, with technology backlog.
  • Collect, manage, and maintain traceability of requirements from all stakeholders across product releases.
  • Write the business case for investments and gain internal approval.
  • Act as the subject matter expert in the business on the product, the market, relevant technology, and the competition.
  • Develop core positioning and messaging for the product.
  • Write playbooks for product demos to customers and develop relationships in key clients.
  • Provide input and suggestions for pricing (models).
  • Monitor, report and improve product performance.
  • Promote the product to sales teams through sales training sessions, webinars, newsletters and other mechanisms.
  • Develop and deliver training to technical sales support.
  • Represent the voice of the customer in senior level management meetings.
  • Evangelize the product internally and externally.
  • Represent as a leader in the business and build relations with business stakeholders Work remotely with geographically dispersed team, across multiple timezones.

What do I need to succeed? 

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, business administration, commerce or engineering is required.
  • Demonstrated domain knowledge, including grasping the tech, market, competition to make informed decisions
  • Have worked for at least 5 years in a similar role at an enterprise software or SaaS company, preferably at least 3 years in the financial services/banking domain
  • Ability to liaise with various stakeholders, including business line management, senior management, partners and customers 
  • Ability to lead advise, coordinate and manage a team of technical specialists 
  • Ability to operate at own initiative with a proactive attitude while remaining aligned with management and customer policies 
  • Effective use of data and metrics to support assumptions, recommendations and drive decision making  
  • Data driven - able to design product dashboards to make data driven product decisions 
  • Practical experience in banking software (banking applications and data architectures)
  • Communication—Can talk business, monetization and growth to senior management, and can sweat out the details and discuss with engineers, designers and architects.
