Joel Dion

Joel Dion is currently the Senior Corporate Counsel at Zappos. Prior to this, they served as the head of legal for Shopbop, a wholly owned Amazon subsidiary, and before that, they were an Intellectual Property Litigation Attorney at Blank Rome LLP.

Joel has advised multiple teams within the Amazon Retail business on a broad range of commercial, technology, and regulatory matters. Joel has also draft, negotiated, and reviewed various commercial agreements for the company’s U.S. and international businesses. Additionally, Joel has managed pre-litigation legal disputes and inquires, supported product development teams for software and hardware products, and provided regulatory guidance on a wide range of issues, including FDA, USDA, and FTC issues as well as domestic and international data security and privacy issues.

At Shopbop, Joel supported the CEO and senior leadership team. Joel also supported other teams including Amazon Business, Professional Healthcare, Business, Industrial and Scientific Supplies, Consumables, Amazon Fresh, Voice and Advanced Shopping, and Softlines.

Joel Dion studied biotechnology at Ursinus College and then went on to get their bachelor's degree at the University of Colorado. Joel later attended Bensalem High School.
