Maayan Baron

Maayan Baron has a diverse work experience in the field of computational biology and biomedical sciences.

Maayan is currently serving as the Principal Computational Biologist at Zephyr AI, a position they have held since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Research Scientist at the same company from January 2022 to February 2023.

Before joining Zephyr AI, Maayan worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California San Diego starting in September 2019 and ending in February 2022.

Maayan also gained valuable experience during their time as a PHD Student at NYU School of Medicine, Sackler Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, where they worked from July 2016 to September 2019. Additionally, they served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from October 2016 to October 2018.

Earlier in their career, Maayan worked at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology as a PHD Student from October 2014 to July 2016. Maayan also held roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from July 2014 to October 2014 and as a Teaching Assistant from October 2013 to October 2014.

Their professional journey began at Perrigo, where they worked as a QA from February 2012 to October 2012.

Maayan Baron earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Biotechnology from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2014. Maayan then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biotechnology Engineering from the same university, completing it in 2015. Following that, they attended NYU School of Medicine, Sackler Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences from 2016 to 2019, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computational Biology.
