The Role You’ll Play

  

As a Financial Accountant at Zepto, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in our Finance function and work closely with the team to manage the financial operations and accounting requirements of the business and work on projects that support us in delivering our strategic objectives.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your focus will be responsible for delivering against our financial accounting requirements that include cash flow management, budgeting, financial & management reporting and meeting periodic financial compliance requirements.

Working in a scale-up, means you get the opportunity to flex your skills in a variety of ways. We are agile and always willing to roll up our sleeves to get things done. You can, however, expect your day to day to be involved in the following:

  • Own key accounting adjustments including prepayments, COS & Opex accruals, interest accruals, AASB15, depreciation & amortisation and fixed assets

  • Own and manage month end process, general ledger analysis, reporting and drive continuous process improvements

  • Manage Accounts receivables and payables, including invoicing customers

  • Support payroll process (where applicable, payroll processed by Accounts assistant)

  • Assist with year-end preparations including balance sheet reconciliations and year end journals

  • Support with annual audit process

  • Cash flow management and assist in budgeting and forecasting process

  • BAS, PAYG and Payroll Tax compliance

  • Working cross functionally with different departments, ensuring key stakeholder delivery is achieved efficiently.

  • Support with ad hoc finance tasks and projects as required

This opportunity is a 12 month, fixed term contract opportunity.

What You’ll Bring to the Table 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 4 years of financial accounting experience, ideally gained within a digital or financial services or software scaleup environment.

  • CA or CPA qualification

  • Demonstrated financial accounting skills with the ability to deliver against multiple accounting deliverables with accuracy and on time

  • Experience in Xero Accounting Software, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office 365

  • Excellent communication skills with a passion for partnering with the business to educate and influence leaders on financial operations requirements.

  • The ability to be agile and work within a fast paced environment
