Paula Marques

Paula Marques has extensive experience in regulatory and compliance roles. Paula is currently serving as the Director of Regulatory and Compliance Latam at Zero Hash since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Compliance Manager at Mercado Livre from May 2021 to July 2022, and as the Head of Compliance, AML & Regulatory Brazil at SumUp from September 2020 to May 2021.

Before that, Paula worked at Fiserv as the Manager Head of Compliance, AML & Operational Risk from June 2019 to August 2020, where they were responsible for implementing and managing Compliance, AML, and Risk Management programs. Paula also served as the Local Privacy Officer for GDPR and LGPD.

From 2017 to 2019, Paula worked at Diebold Nixdorf as an Ethics & Compliance Manager, where they managed and implemented various compliance programs, including Code of Conduct, Anti-corruption, and Whistleblowing. Paula also led internal investigations and was a member of the Americas Ethics Committee.

Prior to that, Paula held compliance roles at Allianz Partners, HSBC Global Asset Management, Itaú BBA, Citi, and Banco Santander, where they gained experience in areas such as operational risk, internal controls, AML procedures, and transaction analysis.

Overall, Paula Marques has a diverse background in regulatory and compliance, with a strong focus on implementing and managing compliance programs, AML, risk management, and privacy.

Paula Marques obtained a Bachelor Degree in Law from Universidade Paulista, where they studied from 2001 to 2006. In 2017 and 2018, they pursued Graduate Study in Digital Law and Compliance with a focus on Data Protection and Privacy at Damásio Educacional. In terms of additional certifications, they acquired the Privacy & Data Protection Foundation certification from EXIN in January 2019, and in April 2020, they obtained the PLDFT certification in AML/CTF from FEBRABAN.
