Josie Verter

Josie Verter's work experience includes a role as a Special Education Teacher at Portland Public Schools in Maine starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Zeta Charter Schools as a Head Science Teacher and Resident Teacher. Josie also has experience as a Preschool Teacher at Kids' Corner Early Care and Education, where they developed lesson plans and taught language and motor skills to children. Josie has served as a Server at Roosevelt Lodge and worked as a Research Assistant at both National Geographic and Dickinson College, where they conducted field work, analyzed data, and wrote a thesis paper. Josie Verter completed their Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science at Dickinson College from 2015 to 2019. In 2018, they participated in a study abroad program at The School for Field Studies, focusing on Wildlife Management. In 2014, they graduated from Chewonki Foundation's Semester School. Recently, they enrolled at Relay Graduate School of Education and is currently pursuing a Master of Education (MEd) degree, expected to be completed in 2023.
