Paul Barton

Paul Barton has extensive work experience in the field of applied physics and nuclear engineering. Paul currently serves as the Director of Engineering at Ziteo Medical, Inc. Prior to this role, they worked at Berkeley Lab for over a decade, where they held various positions including Applied Physicist Research Scientist, Principal Scientific Engineering Associate, and Project Scientist. Their work at Berkeley Lab involved managing a laboratory, designing and fabricating detector readout electronics, handheld gamma ray imagers, and cryostats for Cosmic Microwave Background experiments. Before joining Berkeley Lab, Paul Barton pursued a PhD in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences at the University of Michigan, focusing on the development of radiation imagers and fabrication of silicon photomultipliers.

Paul Barton holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Nuclear Engineering, which they obtained from the University of Michigan from 2003 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Mathematics at Augustana College from 2000 to 2003. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in CITI Good Clinical Practice Course and Human Subjects Protection Training from the CITI Program in October 2022.
