Emmanuel Tondoneh

Emmanuel is a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of Sierra Leone. He holds Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with Honours from De Montfort University in Leicester England (UK) and an LL.M with distinction in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Dundee Scotland (UK). Emmanuel is currently researching a PhD in Corporate Insolvency focusing on “Cross Border Insolvency in Anglophone West Africa: Protecting Local Creditors and Harmonisation through the UNCITRAL Model Law”.

Emmanuel has worked on numerous projects in Sierra Leone. He worked as a State Counsel (Prosecutor) in the Chambers of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Sierra Leone. He was the Legal Counsel, Company Secretary and Head of Contracts at London Mining Limited and Timis Mining Corporation Limited. Between 2017 and 2019 Emmanuel was the Head of Legal at Sierra Rutile Limited and a subsidiary of Iluka Resources Limited a listed Australian mining company. Emmanuel worked as a consultant as Head of Legal and Compliance for FG Gold Limited on the Baomahun Gold project in Sierra Leone.

Emmanuel was part of the team that advised Chinese Development Bank on a share acquisition by Shandong in African Mineral Limited. He completed the acquisition of International Commercial Bank (Sierra Leone) Limited by First Bank Nigeria Plc. Emmanuel has a wealth of experience in working within the extractive industry, regulatory and compliance environment dealing with various commercial transaction, regulatory and company secretarial services in Sierra Leone.
