Marco Metzler

Marco Metzler has a diverse work experience in the media and communications industry. Marco most recently served as the Head Media Relations & Newsroom at Zürcher Kantonalbank since December 2021. Prior to that, they held the role of Head Media Relations at the same company from October 2020 to December 2021.

Before joining Zürcher Kantonalbank, Marco worked at NZZ Neue Zürcher Zeitung, where they served as the Head Digital NZZ am Sonntag / NZZaS.ch from August 2018 to September 2020. Marco also held the positions of Dep. Head Digital NZZ am Sonntag / Economics and Business Editor from October 2016 to July 2018 and Economics and Business Editor at NZZ am Sonntag from November 2013 to September 2016.

In addition to their media roles, Marco was a Lecturer at ZHAW, where they taught journalism practice workshop, internet research techniques, and social media from October 2011 to September 2020.

Earlier in their career, Marco worked as a Freelance Journalist from October 2012 to July 2013 and held various roles at NZZ Neue Zürcher Zeitung, including Economics and Business Editor from January 2008 to September 2012 and Junior Editor from April 2007 to December 2007.

Marco also had an internship at the Swiss Embassy under EDA - DFAE - FDFA from January 2007 to March 2007.

Before entering the media industry, Marco worked as a Market Communications Manager at Swisscom from 2004 to 2006, a Production Assistant at eventlabs GmbH in October 2004, and an Online Editor at 20 Minuten AG from September 2000 to February 2001.

Marco Metzler attended the University of Zurich from 1996 to 2004, where they pursued a Master's degree. Marco'sstudies focused on a multidisciplinary approach, encompassing subjects such as Economical History, Macroeconomics, Software engineering, and Business Administration.
