Ex-OpenAI CTO Mira Murati’s stealth start-up is no longer a secret. With fellow OpenAI colleagues John Schulman as the Chief Scientist and Barret Zoph as CTO, Thinking Machines Lab is determined to make AI work for the average layperson’s objectives and ambitions. Murati, who served for six and a half years at OpenAI and also had a brief stint as CEO, has put together a rag-tag group of the most creative and intellectual scientists, engineers, and builders whose work spans across popular products such as ChatGPT, Character.ai (acquired by Google, PyTorch, and Fairseq.
Meta
With GM’s acquisition of Cruise finally completed, CEO Marc Whitten jumps ship from the self-driving car company and joins Meta as VP of Robotics. Whitten’s hire will further Meta’s development in the consumer humanoid space. With 17 years spent at Microsoft, being a founding engineer on the Xbox team, leading Amazon’s entertainment device division, and lastly serving as CTO of Unify Software, Whitten will now join the Reality Labs hardware division to aid in the future of humanoid robots as a consumer product.
Clearview AI
Clearview AI’s CEO resigns. The controversial facial recognition tech company caught flack in 2020 for using social media profiles of individuals without their consent to build their database and was fined in the UK for more than $9.5 million due to the illegal storage of facial images. To add insult to injury, a trio of senators increased skepticism by calling on federal agencies to stay away from Clearview AI. Hal Lambert and cofounder Richard Schwartz will step up as co-CEOs. To date, the tech company has a trail of $100 million in GDPR fines it refuses to pay.
Unilever
Multinational consumer goods manufacturer Unilever blindsides CEO with the help of billionaire investor Nelson Peltz. Schumacher led the giant for less than 2 years, but disappointing share and profit results plagued his leadership. Stumbling into the new year with a 7% fall in shares and a 5.6% close lower than expected, the Ben and Jerry’s, Dove brand, Hellmann's, and Best Foods owners have some ground to make up if they want to compete with the likes of Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson.

AppViewX's new CEO joins from the enterprise cyber risk and security company Qualys. DiMarino marks the first key change in leadership as the leader in automated certificate lifecycle management (CLM) and public key infrastructure (PKI) was acquired a month ago by private equity firm Haveli. DiMarino sets the standard high with a goal of doubling the network automation company's annual recurring revenue (ARR) through product refinement and GTM execution.
FNZ Group
FNZ Group appoints Aashish Kamat as the new CFO. Kamat has over 35 years of experience in PE and financial services, with CFO and COO roles at JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America. Most recently, Kamat served as a co-managing partner at Catterton’s GCC Asia Growth Fund.
PayU
Fintech firm PayU appoints Pramod Rao as the new Chief Risk Officer. Rao will oversee risk management and regulatory compliance. He will also lead the payment gateway company’s operational and risk framework. Amidst a c-suite restructuring, Rao joins with experience from Citibank, Vodafone Idea, and Axis Bank.

Global tech consulting company Thoughtworks taps Gene Reznik as Chief Strategy Officer and Global Head of Service Line and Steven Yurisich as Managing Director of Asia Pacific Regional. These appointments will aid in growth efforts, strategic partnerships, and the refinement of the company’s platform as it integrates AI to solve complex problems.
USA Swimming
USA Swimming gets a new President and CEO. Chrissi Rawa joins the elite body that selects and trains U.S. athletes to compete in international sporting events such as the Olympics, having previously served as the Athletic Director for the University of Delaware. Rawa will help prepare for the 2028 Olympics and lead athlete safety and education.
Fluent
Leading performance-driven commerce media solutions company Fluent taps Adrian Stack as the Chief Product Officer. Stack previously led the Data Engineering team at Zillow and served as SVP of Product at Rokt. The AI-powered marketing company announced that it will release unaudited financial results for Q4 before the opening of U.S. financial markets on Feb 28th, an announcement investors have been awaiting.
