Hossam Ashtawy

Hossam Ashtawy has worked for several companies in the field of AI and ML. Hossam started their career in 2011 as a Teaching and Research Assistant at Michigan State University. In 2016, they joined Ford Motor Company as an Automated Driving, Tech Lead and R&D Scientist. In 2019, they moved to Atomwise as a Staff Machine Learning Scientist and Senior Machine Learning Scientist. Currently, they are the Director of AI and ML at 1859 Inc since 2022.

Hossam Ashtawy has a strong educational background. Hossam obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Zawia in Zawia, Libya from 2001 to 2006. Hossam then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering from Tripoli University from 2007 to 2008. Afterwards, they completed a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Michigan State University from 2009 to 2011. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Michigan State University from 2012 to 2017. In addition, they have a certification in the Self-Driving Car Engineer Nanodegree Program from Udacity, obtained in March 2019.
