Drew Schmid

Drew Schmid, CPA, NCCO has extensive work experience in the financial industry. Drew currently serves as the Executive Vice President at 1ST COMMUNITY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION, where they oversee various areas including compliance/audit, mortgage lending, and commercial lending. In addition, they are responsible for project management, vendor management, and operational reviews. Prior to this role, Drew was the Executive Vice President Finance, CFO at Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, where they managed Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Procurement Departments. Drew implemented cost-effective programs and introduced a total return investing concept that resulted in significant earnings. Before that, they held the position of SVP Internal Audit at the same company, establishing and leading a professional internal audit department. Drew also served as Chief Financial Officer - Vice President at United SA Federal Credit Union, where they implemented strategies to improve profitability and portfolio yields. Drew started their career as a Senior Auditor at San Antonio Water System and later worked as a Supervising Senior Accountant at Padgett, Stratemann & Co., LLP. Overall, Drew Schmid has a strong background in financial management, audit, compliance, and strategic planning.

Drew Schmid, CPA, NCCO has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from West Virginia University, which they earned from 1981 to 1985. Drew also studied Accounting at Texas State University-San Marcos from 1992 to 1993. In addition to their degrees, they obtained the NCCO certification from NAFCU in 2006 and the CPA certification from the State of Texas in 1995.
