Kim Olofsson has a strong background in research and development within the biotechnology and fermentation field. Kim began their career as a PhD student at Lund University, where they focused on lignocellulosic bioethanol production and yeast fermentation technology development. After completing their PhD, they joined Terranol A/S as a Scientist and later became a Senior Scientist, working on novel commercial yeast strains for lignocellulosic ethanol production. In 2016, Kim joined AAK as a Research Scientist, specializing in fermentation development. Kim was later promoted to Team Leader, responsible for the Biotechnology group within AAK's global R&D unit. Currently, Kim holds the position of Science Manager, and starting in 2023, they will become the Global Head of Research & Development at AAK.
Kim Olofsson completed a Master Thesis at The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University in 2005-2006. Prior to that, from 2000-2006, they pursued a degree in Chemical Engineering at the same university, earning an MSc.
