Farhana Hossain has a diverse range of work experience. In 2019, they joined Advance Care Alliance as a Care Manager, later becoming a Care Manager Supervisor and finally Assistant Director of Care Management. Prior to that, in 2018, they worked as a Graduate Student Assistant in Public Health at the University at Buffalo, as well as a Project Coordinator at the University at Buffalo's School of Public Health and Health Professions. In 2016, they briefly worked as a Science Tutor and Guidance Counselor at The Research Foundation for SUNY. Farhana also has experience as a Dental Surgeon at Radiant Dental Care from 2015 to 2016, and as a Sexual/Reproductive Health Educator at Pioneer Dental College and Hospital from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Preventive Dental Research Coordinator at Pioneer Dental College from 2014 to 2015. In 2013, they worked as a Care Coordinator at Pioneer Dental College and Hospital.

Farhana Hossain has a Bachelor's degree in Dentistry from the University at Dhaka, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. In 2016, they began pursuing a Master's degree in Public Health at the University at Buffalo, which they completed in 2018. Additionally, in August 2020, they obtained a certification in COVID-19 Contact Tracing from Coursera.
