Elder Pinzon

Elder Pinzon, PhD has extensive work experience in data science and research. Elder currently works at Achievers as a Data Science Manager, leading a team in data analysis and machine learning. Prior to this role, they were a Senior Data Scientist at Achievers, where they contributed to the development of ML algorithms and collaborated with cross-functional teams.

Before joining Achievers, Elder worked at JUDI.AI, initially as a Data Scientist and later as the Manager of Data Science. During this time, they developed credit rating and financial monitoring solutions using machine learning techniques. Elder successfully designed and implemented an SMB credit rating model for the US market, which enabled market expansion. Elder also worked on software development, utilizing NLP and ML forecasting techniques to extract insights and credit risk indicators from financial transactions. Additionally, they prototyped an image classification system using deep learning for predicting the quality of scanned PDF documents.

Elder's academic background includes work as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at York University. Elder conducted research and provided support in these roles for a period of seven years. Elder also served as a Teaching Assistant at Universidad Nacional de Colombia.

Elder Pinzon, PhD, has a strong educational background in physics. Elder earned their Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. After completing their undergraduate studies, Elder pursued a PhD in Experimental High Energy Physics at York University. Elder attended York University from 2011 to 2017, focusing their research on this specialized field. In addition to their formal education, Elder has also obtained certifications in various data science and programming areas. Elder completed a Python for Data Science certification through IBM in December 2017. Elder also has additional certifications in Math Program Completion from Kumon Colombia and Data Visualization with Python and Machine Learning with Python from Cognitive Class.
