Cecillia Wang

Incoming National Legal Director, ACLU at ACLU

Cecillia Wang currently serves as the Deputy Legal Director and Director of the Center for Democracy at the ACLU, a position held since November 2016. Previously, Cecillia held various roles within the ACLU's Immigrants' Rights Project from 1997 to 2016, culminating in the position of Director. In addition to practicing law, Cecillia has contributed to legal education as an adjunct lecturer at both the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law and Stanford Law School, designing and teaching courses on immigration law. Earlier experience includes roles as a trial attorney and judicial law clerk at prestigious institutions, including the United States Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Cecillia earned a JD from Yale Law School and a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
