Vice President of Sales at ActiveState

AJ Horst has a diverse background in sales and IT, with experience in various leadership roles. AJ is currently serving as the Vice President of Sales at ActiveState, where they are focused on establishing a secure supply chain for open source languages through the ActiveState Platform. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Sales at eBreak.net, a platform that helps transform monolithic Java applications into microservices. Before that, AJ worked at AppDynamics as the IT Enterprise Software Sales Director, and at EMC as the Director of Sales for Data Center Automation. AJ began their career at Cbeyond as a Senior Sales Account Executive, where they excelled in selling bundled voice and data services, mobile services, and cloud-based applications. AJ also has experience as a President, Founder, and Sales Account Executive at Lynx Professional Web Design, where they designed, hosted, and managed websites for small businesses.

AJ Horst obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin, where they studied from 2003 to 2006. During the year 2005, they also attended the University of Pittsburgh for a semester abroad program called Semester at Sea. In addition to their formal education, AJ Horst has obtained several certifications. In August 2014, they received the certification in Strategic Selling Advanced from Miller Heiman Europe GmbH, an MHI Global company. AJ also obtained the ITIL Expert certification from PEOPLECERT in March 2014 and the Six Sigma Black Belt certification from IASSC in August 2011.
