Joanne Tzouvalopoulos Beck

Joanne Tzouvalopoulos Beck has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Joanne currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Aerium Therapeutics since November 2022.

Prior to their current role, Beck held various positions, including being a Board Member at Astria Therapeutics, Inc. and Orchard Therapeutics in 2019. Joanne also served as the Chief Operating Officer at Boston Pharmaceuticals, where they later became the Chief Executive Officer (ad interim) and Chief Operating Officer from December 2021 to May 2022.

Beck was an Executive Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development & Operations at Celgene from April 2016 to December 2019. From January 2012 to April 2016, they were a Senior Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development at Shire.

Before that, Beck worked at AbbVie/Abbott as the Head of Global Business Excellence and Strategic Program Management from July 2011 to January 2012. Joanne also held various roles at AbbVie/Abbott, including being the Site Head of Abbott Vascular Instruments Deutschland GmbH from October 2009 to April 2011, the Plant Manager from April 2006 to November 2009, and the Director of Biologics Program Management from May 2004 to April 2006.

Additionally, Beck has experience as a Director of Process Development and Manufacturing at Altus Pharmaceuticals.

Joanne Tzouvalopoulos Beck holds a Postdoctoral degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Francisco. Joanne obtained a High School Diploma from Arsakeia - Tositseia Schools, specifically the 2nd Arsakeio High School in Psychiko. Additionally, they received a BA in Chemistry from Lewis & Clark College and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Oregon Health & Science University.
