Luciano Aparicio

Luciano Aparicio has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Luciano started their career at Brea Solans & Asociados, where they worked as an Accountant Analyst, handling accounting and administrative outsourcing for various companies. Luciano then joined Arthur Andersen, where they served as an Audit Senior Analyst, conducting audit procedures and preparation of public financial statements.

In 2002, Aparicio joined AES Argentina as a Group Accountant, overseeing the centralization of reporting activities and budget cycles. Luciano later moved to The AES Corporation as a Project Director, responsible for budgeting and reporting for multiple companies within the AES Latin America Group.

Following their time at The AES Corporation, Aparicio joined AES Gener as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and Risk Management. In this role, they managed a team and foreign subsidiaries, overseeing financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes. Luciano also prepared operational reports for senior management and shareholders. Luciano then transitioned to the position of Controller, managing a larger team and responsible for quarterly statutory and consolidated financial statements.

Returning to The AES Corporation, Aparicio served as the Chief of Staff for AES CFO, working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Senior Leaders to execute global strategies. Luciano also provided advice on key business decisions, executed strategic projects, and assisted in defining and executing the finance strategy.

In their most recent role as the M&A Managing Director at The AES Corporation, Aparicio led global acquisitions, divestitures, and partnerships. Notably, they acquired several solar and battery storage development projects in California, as well as a wind development office. Luciano also sold a significant stake in Southland, a renewable energy project.

Throughout their career, Aparicio has demonstrated strong financial and strategic capabilities, leadership skills, and a focus on renewable energy.

Luciano Aparicio completed their education with the following degrees: a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Tulane University/Chile University (dual degree) in 2013, an AES Leadership Development Program from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in 2006, an AES Finance Leadership Development Program from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in 2006, and a Public Accountant degree (CUM-LAUDEM Mention) from the University of Buenos Aires in 2000. Luciano also obtained a High School Diploma from Carlos Pellegrini High School in 1995 and completed their primary education at Adolfo Van Gelderen School.
