Galina Ilchenco has over 20 years of work experience in software quality assurance engineering. Galina began their career in 2000 as a Senior Software QA Engineer at Digeo, Inc., where they were responsible for testing hardware, middleware, applications, and back-end services. In 2003, they moved to Macromedia, Inc. as a Senior Software QA Engineer, participating in functional specs reviews and developing and maintaining Test Plans and Test Suites for FlashPaper. In 2005, they joined ZING Systems, Inc. as a Senior Software QA Engineer, leading a team of 5 individual contributors to test the proprietary Client software for Sansa media device. In 2007, they began working at Dell, Inc. as a Senior Software QA Engineer, leading the testing efforts for the proprietary Mobile Music application on Dell's branded Android based products. In 2011, they joined Lab 126 as a Platform QA Engineer, documenting, designing and developing test plans for platform functionality of Android based wireless consumer devices. In 2015, they moved to Yuzu™ (Barnes & Noble, Digital Education Division) as a Client Software QA Manager, building MacOS QA team from the ground up and representing the QA team to Development, Design, and Product teams. In 2020, they began working at CK-12 Foundation as a Quality Assurance Lead, and in 2022, they joined Afero as an SQA Engineer.

Galina Ilchenco began their education in 1980, when they earned a BA in Graphic Design from State Art College. Galina then attended Diablo Valley College from 1991 to 1994, studying Computer Science. In 1999 and 2000, they completed Microsoft management courses in management/leadership. In 2005, they earned an MBA in Business Administration and Management, General from the New York Institute of Technology. Finally, in 2015 and 2016, they completed a Front-End Web Developer course from Udacity.
