Software Engineer II at Affinaquest

James Farrell has worked in various roles throughout their career. James began their work experience in 2019 at Nashville Software School, where they held a role as a Full Stack Software Engineer. Their responsibilities included building a website with login/logout properties, password/username verification, and a newsfeed section. James also coded a module in vanilla JavaScript for posting news articles to the newsfeed section.

In 2019, James joined Ruby as a Software Engineer, where they built, deployed, tested, and maintained web and mobile apps in an AGILE environment. James played a key role in weekly meetings with product and design teams to address UI/UX and build issues. James also built a web app that helped the company acquire a large number of new users.

In 2020, James transitioned to the role of Product Owner at Ruby, where they continued to contribute to app development and deployment.

In 2021, James briefly worked at Heaven's Door as a Web Developer before joining Test Kitchen Studios as a Music Producer, Film Composer, and Keyboardist. At Test Kitchen Studios, they composed and mixed original scores for documentaries and produced music for advertising campaigns.

In 2021, James joined Built Technologies as a Software Engineer II. James successfully reduced new customer onboarding time from 1 week to 5 minutes by designing and building an internal app using Vue.js. This allowed the integration team to directly create new customers, set options, and initialize databases without relying on the development team.

Most recently, in 2022, James joined Affinaquest as a Software Engineer II.

James Farrell has a Bachelor's degree in Contemporary Writing and Production from Berklee College of Music, which they earned between the years 2003 and 2007. In 2019, they attended Nashville Software School, where they obtained a Certificate in HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
