David’s career in human capital performance and business leadership spans over 40 years in both the for-profit and not-forprofit sectors. He has been a business owner and worked for small business startups as well as large corporations. David has been at Goodwill for 18 years, the bulk of that time with Goodwill Manasota in Sarasota, Florida. At this Goodwill, he held multi-function responsibilities in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Donated Goods Operations, Mission Services and Integration, Real Estate and Market Development, Risk Management, and Information Systems. He has led a Goodwill out of insolvency and has operated territories licensed from other Goodwill agencies. As CEO for Alabama Goodwill Industries based in Birmingham, David has overall responsibility for a 38- county territory. With the Alabama Goodwill Board of Directors and staff, he has developed the current strategic plan which outlines significant growth in both mission services and donated goods operations. David holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Human Resources Management, and an MBA from the University of Florida. He was a key architect in the growth of Goodwill Manasota from $7M to $55M in top line revenue at its peak. David has led the design and implementation of award-winning leadership development and learning programs. His previous experience includes progressive leadership roles with Fortune 500 corporations, and executive leadership roles on many nonprofit boards. David is a regular presenter at Goodwill conferences, covering topics including human capital performance, leadership, learning systems, critical data and its use for donated goods operations improvement, mission integration, and Goodwill association collaboration. He is a lifelong learner and has completed the Goodwill Industries International Executive Development Program.
