Glenn Tournier

Glenn Tournier has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of hardware design and engineering. Glenn currently holds the position of Vice President of Device Engineering at Alarm.com since June 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Director of Device Engineering at Alarm.com, leading the hardware and firmware teams for their panel and sensing products from June 2020 to June 2022. Before joining Alarm.com, Glenn worked as the Director of Device Engineering from August 2017 to June 2020, where they led the sensing R&D group responsible for evaluating and prototyping new technologies for the Alarm.com platform.

Prior to Alarm.com, Glenn worked at SYNEXXUS Inc as a Senior Hardware Design Engineer from April 2015 to August 2017. In this role, they led the technical team in designing a transmission and distribution transformer monitoring system. Glenn also collaborated with OEM and industry leaders to support integration and incorporate new capabilities and algorithms.

Glenn gained experience in the medical industry during their time at NinePoint Medical where they worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer from November 2012 to April 2015. Glenn led the hardware design of a next-generation medical imaging system and was responsible for the overall system architecture, electrical component design, and management of the hardware team. Glenn also ensured compliance with FDA and IEC regulations.

Prior to NinePoint Medical, Glenn worked at BBN Technologies as a Hardware Systems Engineer from July 2006 to November 2012. Glenn designed a data acquisition and signal detection system for acoustic and infrasound sensors, as well as developed energy usage models for embedded sensor platforms.

Additionally, Glenn has experience working as an Instructor at MIT, where they taught a short course in circuit design and PCB layout. Glenn also worked as a Research Assistant at MIT Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems and as an Electrical Engineering Intern at Guidant Corporation (now Boston Scientific).
