Leroy Mwanzia

Leroy Mwanzia is a seasoned professional in data management and open science, currently serving as Senior Manager at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT since September 2020. In this role, Leroy provides strategic leadership for innovative data governance and information management, overseeing a global team to align with the organization's objectives. Previously, Leroy held the position of Chief Data Officer at CIAT, where responsibilities included organizing data as an asset for international agricultural research. Leroy has extensive experience across various organizations, including roles at the World Agroforestry Centre as a Data Systems Specialist, and consulting for USAID and DFID on data management and software development projects. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Africa Nazarene University.
