Shobak Kythakyapuzha

Shobak Kythakyapuzha has extensive work experience in the field of RF engineering. Shobak is currently working as the Director of RF Engineering at Ambiq since April 2022. Previously, they worked at Dialog Semiconductor from September 2015 to March 2022, where they served as the RF Group Manager. In this role, they managed a team of talented designers and was involved in the development of the 3rd Generation BLE devices, including the industry's smallest radio and SoC with excellent performance and the lowest Rx & Tx radio currents in the industry.

Before that, Shobak worked at NXP, where they were the Senior RFIC Design Manager from January 2013 to August 2015. Shobak led a group of full Silicon team, including analog, digital, system, and validation engineers. During their tenure, they executed projects related to Zigbee SoC and BLE SoC. Prior to this role, they served as the RFIC Design Manager at NXP from July 2010 to January 2013, managing a group of RF/analog designers working on the 2.4Ghz and SubGhz connectivity protocols.

Shobak began their career at Freescale Semiconductor in December 2004 as the Principal RF IC Engineer. Shobak was the PLL Lead for LTE products in the Advanced Technology Group. Their responsibilities included circuit design, such as working on the first integrated RX/TX GSM VCO, designing high-frequency CMOS dividers, PA's, T/R switches, VGA's, and defining the digital interface for the LTE test chip.

Prior to working at Freescale Semiconductor, Shobak worked at Motorola as an RF IC Engineer from January 2000 to December 2004. In this role, they contributed to the development of the first integrated RX/TX GSM VCO, which sold over 100 million units. Shobak also worked on RF test circuits for DVB and Wifi chips.

Shobak Kythakyapuzha's education history begins with their high school diploma from Kendriya Vidyalaya in 1991. After completing their high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics & Communications from the University of Calicut between 1991 and 1995. Later, in 1996 to 1998, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, specializing in General Management, at Cochin University of Science and Technology. Continuing their education, they obtained a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from Kansas State University from 1999 to 2000. Recently, Shobak Kythakyapuzha has been enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University since 2017, with an expected completion year of 2024.
