A full-service IP law firm with offices in the U.S. and Japan. Darrin manages HEA’s U.S. office and has over 14 years of legal experience focused on strategic counseling, patent prosecution (mechanical, electrical, software, design), IP litigation (district court, PTAB, ITC, CAFC), unfair competition, licensing, branding, and corporate due diligence.

Darrin is registered to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) and is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, the CAFC, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Darrin serves on the Advisory Board of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Counsel (SBEC) – an influential voice for entrepreneurship and small business growth in the U.S. and across the globe. Darrin also advises several technology startup companies and is a select member of the Business Growth Counsel (BGC) in Washington DC.

Prior to forming HEA, Darrin was a partner for several years at a former top 25 intellectual property firm in Washington DC, where he practiced in the patent prosecution and litigation groups.
