Coco Massengale

Researcher at American Institutes for Research

CoCo Massengale is currently a Doctoral Student at Stanford University since September 2019. Prior to this, they worked at the American Institutes for Research, starting in February 2010. During their time there, they held various roles including Researcher, Research Associate, and Research Assistant. In these positions, CoCo authored and edited content for department newsletters, websites, and social media sites, and implemented communications strategies to reach both scholarly and nonacademic audiences. CoCo also provided administrative and editorial support, coordinated technical reviews of reports and papers, and edited and reviewed internal and external publications. CoCo also worked independently as a Freelance Editor starting in October 2011, copyediting book proposals, papers, articles, and manuscripts for academic authors, developing and restructuring scholarly journal articles and books, and collaborating with authors to prepare manuscripts for submission and launch. Additionally, they were a Research Consultant at the World Bank from December 2009 to August 2010, where they collected and cataloged data on HIV/AIDS in Africa and created a database of research articles for use by interested parties. Lastly, CoCo served as a Legislative Intern at the US House of Representatives from December 2009 to February 2010.

CoCo Massengale obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Stanford University, completing the program from 2005 to 2009. CoCo then pursued a Master's degree in Publishing from The George Washington University, attending the institution from 2011 to 2013. Currently, CoCo is enrolled in a doctoral program at Stanford University, working towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education. CoCo'sexpected graduation year is 2025.
