Krista Haugen

Director Of Patient Safety - Global Medical Response at Global Medical Response

Krista Haugen has extensive work experience in the medical field, particularly in patient safety and emergency care. Krista currently holds the position of Director of Patient Safety at Global Medical Response, where they have been since May 2020. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Patient Safety & Medical Risk Management at Med-Trans Corporation from September 2016 to May 2020.

Throughout their career, Krista has also worked as an RN in various emergency departments, including at St. Anthony Hospital from 2015 to 2016 and at St. Elizabeth Hospital from 2008 to 2014. Krista also served as a Flight RN at Airlift Northwest from 2000 to 2007 and as a Burn ICU RN and Emergency Department RN at Harborview Medical Center from 1997 to 2000.

In addition to their clinical experience, Krista has been involved in supporting and advocating for the air medical community. Krista co-founded the Survivors Network for the Air Medical Community in 2009 and has been a volunteer at the Air Medical Memorial since 2009. Krista also served as a board member for the National EMS Memorial Service from 2012 to 2014.

Krista Haugen, MN, RN, CMTE has a Master of Nursing degree in Population-based nursing from the University of Washington, Tacoma, which they obtained from 1996 to 1998. Krista also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Pacific Lutheran University, earned from 1986 to 1991. In addition to their academic qualifications, Krista has obtained several certifications including the Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE) from the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) in 2018, and various patient safety and analysis certifications from institutions such as Duke University Health System, ASHP, and Outcome Engenuity LLC. Krista has also completed training in Crew Resource Management.
