David Rubinsohn

Director of Syndication & Fundraising Content at American Public Television

David Rubinsohn has extensive experience in the public television industry. David started their career in 1985 at WHYY, INC, where they held various roles including Production Coordinator, Program Manager, and Director of Television Broadcasting. During their time at WHYY, they were responsible for creating program schedules, managing on-air promotion, and increasing audience and revenue.

In 2008, Rubinsohn joined WNET.ORG as the VP of Programming & Distribution and WLIW Station Manager. David led WLIW21, New York's broadcasting platform, and played a key role in the scheduling and administration of nationally produced programming. David also served as the Creative Partner for many national Public Television specials.

Rubinsohn then moved on to work at DLT Entertainment in 2011 as the Director of Public Television Sales. Here, they primarily sold British shows for public television schedules.

At TJL Productions, Rubinsohn held the position of Director of Programming & Sales. David focused on station relations, programming content, and program underwriting. David worked on various pledge programs, including "The 60s Rock, Pop and Soul," and "Ed Sullivan's Comedy Legends."

In 2010, Rubinsohn joined DLR TV as the President. In this role, they worked as a Consultant, Project Manager, Content Locator, Producer, Station Relations, and On-Air Talent for various public television suppliers and affiliates.

Lastly, Rubinsohn joined American Public Television as the Director of Syndication & Fundraising Content. David located programming for sale to local public television stations, oversaw production and editing, and even appeared as pledge talent.

David Rubinsohn attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communications, specializing in Radio, TV, and Motion Pictures.
