Matthew Martin (Matt)

Matt Martin has extensive experience in real estate asset management and investment. Matthew "Matt" currently holds the position of Vice President of Asset Management at American Realty Advisors since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Asset Manager at The Habitat Company from 2018 onwards.

From 2016 to 2018, Matt served as an Investment Associate at Planned Property Management, where they managed a diverse portfolio of 35 multifamily assets with a total value of approximately $755 million. Matthew "Matt" also played a key role in the analysis and due diligence of a large multifamily acquisition worth $100 million and presented numerous acquisition opportunities to the acquisitions committee.

Matt's earlier experience includes working as an Asset Manager at Colony NorthStar, Inc. from 2015 to 2016, where they actively managed a portfolio of 104 assets with a value of $72 million. Matthew "Matt" successfully resolved unpaid balances worth $10.4 million through various strategies such as foreclosure, discounted pay-offs, short sales, and REO sales.

Prior to that, they held the position of Asset Management Associate at AEW Capital Management from 2014 to 2015, where they managed a portfolio of core properties worth $645 million and implemented customized business plans to increase the value of 16 assets by $129 million.

Matt started their career at Morlin Asset Management, LP in 2009 as an Associate, where they provided asset management services for a commercial real estate portfolio valued at $208 million and implemented individual asset business plans that generated $208 million of growth.

Before entering the real estate industry, they gained experience in financial analysis and auditing as an Assistant Financial Analyst at Silicon Valley Capital Management and as an Assistant Account Manager/Auditor at Arthur J. Gallagher.

Matthew "Matt" Martin completed their Bachelor's degree in Commerce with a concentration in Finance from Santa Clara University, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. In 2013, they pursued further education and obtained a Real Estate Certificate from UCLA Extensions, completing the program in 2015.
