Carolyn Curiel serves as a Trustee on the Board of Directors for the American Writers Museum since February 2018, overseeing the governance of the first national museum dedicated to American writing. Previously, Curiel held the position of Executive Director at the Purdue Institute for Civic Communication (PICC) from October 2008 to January 2018, where recognition was received as one of the top journalism educators in the nation. Earlier roles include Chief of Staff at Purdue University, a member of the Editorial Board at The New York Times, U.S. Ambassador, Special Assistant to President Clinton and Senior Presidential Speechwriter, and Producer/Writer for ABC News' Nightline. Curiel's educational background includes a degree from Purdue University.
