Simon McErlane

Simon McErlane has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Simon began their career at Schwarz Pharma as a Medical Advisor in the UK from October 2000 to February 2002. Simon then moved on to Allergan, where they worked as a Medical Advisor for European Neurology R&D from February 2002 to January 2004. After that, they joined Pfizer as a Medical Director for RIDOR from January 2004 to July 2005. Simon then worked at sanofi-aventis as a Medical Manager for CV from July 2005 to October 2005. In 2006, they joined Takeda Pharmaceuticals in Europe and Canada, where they held the positions of Medical Manager - CV from February 2006 to November 2008, and then Medical Director for UK & Ireland from November 2008 to July 2011. Simon also worked at Takeda Pharmaceuticals Asia Pacific as Senior Medical Director & Head of Clinical Science Asia from July 2011 to July 2013, and later as Vice President & Site Head, Head of Biomedical Policy, Asia from August 2013 to September 2015. Simon'snext role was at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Regional Medical Director, Australasia from September 2015 to November 2017. Currently, they are working as the Medical Director Asia Pacific at Amicus Therapeutics since March 2018. Throughout their career, Simon has demonstrated strong leadership skills and contributed to various aspects of medical affairs, clinical science, and biomedical policy in different regions.

Simon McErlane completed a Graduate Diploma in Health Economics at Deakin University in 2022. Simon also obtained a Dip Pharm Med in Pharmaceutical Medicine from the University of Wales. In addition, they completed a Takeda Leadership Institute program in Business Administration and Management at INSEAD and a Pfizer Australiasian Leadership Course in Business Administration and Management at Macquarie University. Mr. McErlane also achieved ACEM Primaries in Emergency Medicine from the Australian College of Emergency Medicine and completed a MB BS BSc in Medicine from UNSW.
