Alejandro Gusis has had a long and varied career in procurement and strategic sourcing. Alejandro began their career in 1995 as a Senior Buyer for Ford Motor Company, where they managed $100+ million in annual purchases and achieved an average savings of 15%. From 1999 to 2000, they worked as a Senior Financial Analyst for American Airlines, where they were the main contact person for several corporate finance functions and responsible for the performance review for Latin America, Miami Hub, and point-to-point routes. In 2000, they joined A.T. Kearney as a Senior Manager Consultant. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as a Senior Manager of Corporate and Brand Strategy for BlueCross BlueShield Association, where they were a member of the Senior Management team in charge of developing collective strategies for the Blues Cross Blue Shield Plans. In 2006, they joined Wolters Kluwer as the Director of Strategic Sourcing and Operations Excellence, where they were second in line of command for the entire Global Strategic Sourcing program. From 2011 to 2018, they worked as a Senior Global Director of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing and Global Director of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing for Ingredion Incorporated, where they were responsible for the negotiation and acquisition of transportation and logistics services for all global contracts and led teams in 3 South American countries through the selection and negotiation of over-the-road transportation services. From 2018 to 2022, they worked as the Global Vice President Indirect Procurement and Real Estate for Univar. Currently, they are the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) for Amyris.

Alejandro Gusis received their Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires between 1989 and 1994, with a field of study in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering. Alejandro then went on to pursue their MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, graduating in 1999 with a focus in Corporate Strategy and Finance.
