Bonnie Fong

Associate Scientist - Fermentation at Amyris

Bonnie Fong has worked in various roles in the scientific field since 2017. In 2021, they began working as an Associate Scientist - Fermentation at Amyris. From 2018 to 2021, they worked as a Research Associate at Berkeley Lab. In this role, they engineered industrial relevant chemolithotrophs and P. putida for efficient redirection of metabolic flux towards biosynthesis of high value intermediates and biofuel precursors. Bonnie also collaborated with academia affiliates and industrial partners to develop novel microbial strains for applications in sustainable low-cost bio refineries and advancement of CO2 fixation. Additionally, they reported and presented experimental results to multilevel management and collaborators, maintained laboratory records, experimental datasets, and wrote standard operating protocols. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Research Assistant at UC Irvine.

Bonnie Fong attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2021 to 2022, where they earned a Master of Bioprocess Engineering. Bonnie previously attended UC Irvine from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
