Fernando Garcia has over 30 years of work experience in the business-to-business, product and standards development, and business development sectors. Fernando began their career in 1988 as a Research Engineer at Research Cottrell, where they were responsible for performing EPA compliance testing of power utility and process facilities utilizing fossil fuels and alternative energy fuels. In 1990, they moved to Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA as an Engineering Manager, where they established and managed the division's regulatory compliance program and was responsible for directing the development of environmentally compliant engines to California ARB, EPA and EC exhaust emission standards. In 1998, they joined Bombardier as Senior Director, Government and Regulatory Affairs, where they were the lead corporate representative in Washington, DC on legislative and regulatory initiatives and was responsible for product and facility regulatory compliance with EPA, DOT, DOE and EC mandates. In 2008, they joined Amyris Inc as Senior Director, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs, where they had a unique blend of hands-on experience with new chemical registrations, fuel registration and validation, cosmetic and consumer products regulatory approvals and R&D. Fernando was also skilled at developing regulatory business strategies that supported growing revenues and profits through cross-functional team execution, customer-focus success factors and alignment with corporate strategy.

Fernando Garcia received a Master's Degree in Mechanical/Combustion Sciences from UC Irvine.
