Kerry Garvey

Kerry Garvey has over 17 years of work experience in various roles. From 2012 to present, Kerry has been employed at Applause, starting as a Freelance tester and progressing to roles such as Test Team Lead and Enterprise Test Team Lead. Currently, Kerry is serving as the Senior Testing Services Manager. Responsibilities in these roles include setting up test cycles, writing test cases, managing test teams, triaging defects, and interacting with customers. Kerry is also responsible for preparing and distributing testing performance reports.

Earlier in Kerry's career, from 2004 to 2014, they worked as a Freelance Mystery Shopper/Coordinator/Auditor for various brands and retailers. This involved improving brand compliance, ensuring Point Of Sales (POS) were displayed correctly, and conducting audits in retail and financial environments. Additionally, Kerry worked as a Freelance usability tester for UserTesting, TryMyUI, and WhatUsersDo from 2008 to 2012.

Kerry Garvey has a diverse education history. In 1988, they attended Malton Secondary School where they obtained GCSE and A Levels in General Education. After completing their secondary education, Kerry pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with Honours in Applied Social Science and English Literature at the University of York, graduating in 1998. In 2015, they enrolled in a Distance Learning program located in North Yorkshire, UK, where they earned a Diploma in Project Management.

In addition to their academic achievements, Kerry has also obtained several certifications. Some of their certifications include "Web Accessibility Basics" from Contentsquare, "Google Project Management: Specialization" from Coursera, and "Exploring Unconscious Bias with Vernā Myers" from The Vernā Myers Company (TVMC). Kerry has also completed courses such as "Introduction to Accessibility & Inclusive Design" and "Testing for Web Accessibility With Accessibility Insights" on Coursera. Furthermore, Kerry has acquired various professional certifications, including "Accredited Scrum Master Training" from iStudy, "Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I)" from Scrum.org, and "Scrum Master Certified (SMC)" also from Scrum.org. Kerry'scommitment to continuous learning is evident in their participation in courses on topics such as psychology, mental health management during COVID-19, public speaking skills, color design, and HTML.
