Bernard van der Stichele

Bernard Van der Stichele, MBA has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Bernard is currently the International Marketing Director (Head) for the Global Commercial Team at Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Prior to this role, they worked at Biogen as the Associate Marketing Director for Europe from 2014 to 2019. Bernard also served as the Division Lifecycle Management Brand Team Lead for the Immunology & Inflammation Division at AbbVie in 2012. Before that, Bernard held various positions at Immunology Division, Abbott Laboratories Belgium, including Business Unit Manager for Rheumatology and Gastroenterology, Marketing & Sales Manager for Neonatology, Regional Sales Manager, and Market Research Manager. Their career in the pharmaceutical industry began at Primary Care, Eli Lilly Belgium, where they worked as a Customer Service Manager and Sales Representative for CNS and Antibiotics. Overall, Bernard brings a wealth of experience in marketing, brand management, sales, and market research to their current role at Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Bernard Van der Stichele, MBA, has a diverse education history. In 1995, they attended The University of Chicago Booth School of Business as an exchange student, focusing on finance. From 1993 to 1995, they pursued an International MBA at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, with a specialization in General Management. Prior to this, from 1987 to 1990, Bernand earned their Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Finance & Management Policy from McGill University. In 2013 and 2014, they obtained a Health Economics degree, Summa Cum Laude, with a focus on Pharmacoeconomics at EHSAL Management School. Additionally, in 2021, Bernard acquired certification in The Strategic Digital Omnichannel Pharma Marketing Course from CELforPharma.
