Hazel Emerson is an accomplished scientist with a focus on polymer science and engineering. Currently employed at Arkema as a Scientist since June 2022, Hazel previously served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from September 2017 to May 2022, collaborating with Dr. Gregory Tew. Hazel's research experience includes a visiting role at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, where participation in the DAAD-ISAP program involved studying supramolecular peptide-polymer conjugates. Prior to that, an internship at Michelin allowed for the evaluation of elastomeric nanocomposites for tire applications. Hazel holds a PhD and MS in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a BS in Chemistry from Furman University, alongside extensive research internships and leadership roles throughout academic career progression.
